Cleaning Travertine Showers

  • Do clean daily with a squeegee in conjunction with a Daily Stone Cleaner like Kleen Stone Plus with protector or economical Kleen Stone Concentrate.
  • Do treat your walls with Rock Star polish weekly for extra protection and shine.
  • Do use a heavy duty cleaner such as Powerful Stone and Tile Cleaner when you have an accumulation of soap film (waxy feeling and look), especially under the soap dish and in the lower part of the shower.  Sometimes in heavy duty restoration situations, you need an abrasive to get off deposits.  EcoPads with a rotary hand machine will do the trick usually without any chemicals.  Typically to get the factory finish all you need (if you have a 7 inch backer pads for a hand machine) is the 800 grit EcoPad to do the job.
  • Do travertine sealing periodically.  It is easy to do using a good safe impregnator such as Travertino and Marmo Impregnator.  It is your best travertine sealer. Low odor, minimal VOC’s, and premium performance.
